  1. I promise I have searched and read posts, but I still can't find one simple guide. I simply want to transfer Hi8 tapes to DVD-R. I have my Hi8 camcorder connected to the analog pass through of my TRV22. I have captured the full tape into an .avi with WinDV. Now for the question(s):

What is the easiest way to get the .avi to DVD-R so that I get good as good of picture from the DVD-R as the original Hi8. If necessary, please provide instructions for 1 hour per DVD and 1 hours per DVD.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

The following is a quote from the second link (an all in one tool, don't know what the ouput quality is like):

Here it is plain n simple, after hours of painstaking trial n error this is what i came up with.

If you have a divx, avi or mpeg you want to convert to dvd, use neodvd+, this will convert your file into the necessary vob + inf files you need, neodvd+ will create the AUDIO_TS + VIDEO_TS files. When you have these files you can simply burn these to a dvdR as data files, dvd rom.
    Might be of use.

    Good luck...
