  1. I picked up a 2 pack for 2.99 to try out. media id = OPTODISCOP1

    Anyone have opinions on these?

I copied a disc using dvdecrypter iso read/write on an Iomega burner (I think this is a rebadged NEC1300). The disc played back ok on the Iomega drive, but on my LG 8161 dvd-rom, the picture froze about 15 min from the end. (I had 4 hrs of video on the disc) I've never had a playback problem like this on the LG before.

The disc also played back ok on 2 dvd players.

why are you spending $1.50 per dvdr for suspicious-quality stuff rated @2.4x when you can buy quality stuff @4x for $1.20 per dvdr
amazon has Memorex DVD+R 4x (Ricohs) at 25 for $29.99...no tax, free shipping

  4. Thanks for the info on the Amazon deal. I've seen it posted here before and usually buy media in spindles of 25 online.

I didn't really need any blanks at this point, or I would have ordered 25. I just happened to be at compusa and figured for $3, what the hell.

Because, if you search the forums (and I can also tell you from personal experience), that Memorex disks are HORRIBLE

    Kingnog,

Memorex DVD-R may be HORRIBLE, but Memorex DVD+R are GREAT!!!.

Because, if you search the forums (and I can also tell you from personal experience), I can burn Memorex 2.4x DVD+R disks at 4x with my Lite-On 401S, and some people can burn Memorex 4x DVD+R disks at 8x with Plextor 708.

    qpskfec,

Last month I bought three 5-Pack CompUSA 2.4x DVD+RW disks on sale at $1.35 per disks (the cheapest price ever for +RW disks). Media ID is OPTODISC. They play great in my three Sony DVD players.

Well, I've had more than enough bad experiences with Memorex media, including: CD-r, CD-rw, DVD-r, DVD-rw, and DVD+rw...the one format i have NOT tried is the DVD+r... it could be great, but personally I wouldnt waste my money trying to find out

Be aware that the Memorex [RICOHJPN] DVD+R(W)s are much better than the Memorex [CMC] DVD+R(W)s.
    Media code is important too...
