  1. Hey,

I've got a problem. While i'm adding subtitles to a wide sreen movie, in virtual dub the black bars in the movie disappear. This is also happening when i'm frameserving it to tmpgenc. I've also tried the advanced setting in tmpgenc, to set video arrange mode: full screen keep aspect ratio. Now the black bars are back. But what happends next is that the subtitles appear in the movie box, and not in the black bar on the bottom, now the subtitles are covering up a part of the movie.

I'd like to set the subtitles lower so that it doesn't appear in the movie box.
I've tried many things, but nothing worked out. I thought maby it's something with virtual dub, because virtual dub doesn't show the black bars but only full screen.

Does anyone now how to do this?

    Please someone, anyone help...!!!

You can add black bars using AviSynth and Virtual Dub. Then the subtitles have to appear in the black borders.

    Code:
    AddBorders(48,48,48,48)

Sorry about the subtitles. The clip is from The Two Towers, but the only subtitles I could find were from Bowling for Columbine.
    Hello.

Add the black bars in virtualdub(filters->resize->expand frame and letterbox image).

Or skip the virtualdub and use vobsub and tmpgenc.
