    Hi Chrissyboy!

    How do you pronounce TMPGEnc?

But seriously, what does SVCD2DVD want, or expect?

When, with my hardware encoding PVR type card (AV@MPG2), I record MPG clips, I need to check whether they are 'clean cut', or, as sometimes happens, have some 'half frame' at the end, which in the final DVD results in an ugly, blocky frame between clips.

So I used TMPGEnc+, and nowadays mostly Womble, to check for these unwanted extras. If there are, I chop them off. Then I need to save the result.

My question: do I need to save as "MPEG-1 System (Automatic)" in TMPGEnc / "Multiplexed" which is the default in Womble, or does it have to be "MPEG-1 Video CD" (TMPGEnc) which is just "Video CD" in Womble?

I just notice that the file gets larger in the latter case. What does SVCD2DVD do with the "Video CD Extensions"?

This is important because in the worst case I waste a DVD+R, and otherwise at least a lot of time.

    Callan

I would say the former: "MPEG-1 System (Automatic)" in TMPGEnc. The VIDEO CD "extensions" will be lost in the wash so to speak so there is no need to produce them.
