Sony DVD NS-730 freezez with svcd

Hi,

I got a problem with playback on svcd movies, it freezez after 10-40 mins,
it works fine if I burn the same movie in my brothers computer.Its not every movie that freezez but pleny of them will.
The movies works fine in the computer
My specs

Lite-on 24x10x40
Nero burning rom 5.5.7.2 tried different speeds 12-24 X same result
Sony cd-r 80 min ( have tried samsung 80 mins too)
Sony NS-730-P standalone


My brother spec
same nero version but with an old hp scsiwriter burns at 8x

Please help ? should i buy a new cd-burner ?

Sony players are traditionally picky with media, especially CD-R's.

There are a number of other discs you can try though, check this and the media forum with the search facility for Sony and CD-R and I'm sure you'll find something that works for you.
