  1. Hi there every1!

    This is my first post, so obviously, I'm a newbie.

    The queston I'd like to know is;

    Do you know If there are any current programs, in which you can create your DVD menu (from scratch). I got something yesterday called TMPGEnc DVD Author, but it seems to be a little too basic.

    Let me know!

    Thanx a bunch

    There's lots. Go back into TOOLs on the left - DVD Authoring - there's a list of many with prices, descriptions and user comments.

    Some have trial versions so you can test them out before settling on one or more.

    Hard to recommend without knowing what else you need/want, how much you're willing to pay, etc. etc.

    DVDLab & Ulead DVD Workshop are popular, but very different from each other.

    Also, I'm sure I read that other Tmpgenc DVD Author users are creating their own menus with it. So I'm not sure what features you want beyond what's available there.
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1
    The Rogue Pixel: Pixels are like elephants. Every once in a while one of them will go nuts.

  3. I'm a newbie also so I know your frustration. I finally settled on DVD Workshop and it's simple enough for me to use. These ladies and gentlemen on here have forgotten more than I've ever known about video and its processing so their advice might be better than mine. I just know that it works for me and has quite a few extra things that I find useful. Good luck!

    TMPGEnc DVD Author is quite versatile in its menu creation. If you have the latest version, then note the "Edit" tab at the bottom of the menu screen. You can choose the background of the menu, edit fonts, change layout of menus, and set order of menus. The only thing that I have not been able to do with it is save a custom template. I have not tried, but I think that you can even do motion thumbnails. I have also used Ulead MF2 and DVD Workshop, but have had problems with bugs.

    So far TMPGEnc DVD Author has worked great for me.

    Hope this helps.

    How about you put in some video, create the menu (template), then delete the video and save it.
