Some of the people I know here are Baptists and they are the ones who're going to graduate with a liver disease. Its a pity.

And George, although I've never come home wasted, I know if I did, my parents would react the same way. Besides, I'm not that big on alcohol anyway...just once in a while.

    Solar,

    Nor I.

But I would not say they are a "people", rather a "sect" and if they are like some other religions I have known members of, they like to drink on occassion so that they can scourgify themelves to show how remorseful they are that they "backslid".

    Cheers,

    George

I like the feel of this thread. Humour is abundant.

I don't like the taste of alcohol either, glad the first 2 beers kill the taste buds so I can have a third.

You're no less a man if you abstain, than you are a "real man" because you get blotto every chance you get.

    Cheers,

    George

6 AM comes early, gotta go beddy-by now, see you all tomorrow.

  6. I hope this thread is not going to get locked because it is straying too far into forbidden territory, but I was under the impression that alcohol was forbidden by the Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, and conservative Christian sects.
Just what is this reality thing anyway?

Nope, nope, and nope. I'm half hindu and half sikh(no I dont wear a turban and neither does my family) and my family drinks pretty often. I dont know much about budhism, but I know it's a "spinoff" of hinduism so I dont think they're prohibited from alcohol. As for muslims, some of my friends are muslims and they drink very habitually.

No I havent seen Invader Zim...like my other one, I got this one from Family Guy. This monkey went evil because his wife slept w/ someone else and now lives in Chris's closet. What's Invader Zim about?

Yes, I remember the Family Guy monkey. :cD

Invader Zims another cartoon, that was (supposedly) for kids but Nickelodeon pulled it for being OTT. Just really good humour and different, but it wasn't in the Nick mold.

Hard to explain, but he's an alien whose bosses send him to "invade" Earth because he always messes up and they don't really care about Earth in their plans.

He has a sidekick named GIR, a defective robot, They each adopt costumes to blend in here, and GIR ends up as a dog with a zip front.

I'm not making it sound very funny. :cD But if you ever get a chance to see it, you may love it. :c)

Lots of sites about it online. Big fan base. :c)

I had never heard of it...probably because I'm not a big nick fan. I'll try to catch it sometime.

Good. :c) It's very non-Nick, which is why they stopped production.

It's funny, but for me it has a cutness factor too. If you like Stewie at all, you'll definitely appreciate Zim. Attitude galore!!! :cD

  14. lol in 5 hours...

Well depending on what airport, you could get on the train to London Bridge Station, from there walk towards the Thames and turn right. You would then get to see:

Tower Bridge (the famous one often confused with London Bridge)
    Houses of Parliment
    Big Ben
    Millenium Wheel
    The Thames?!
and that silly bolloxs David Blain (Blane?)

Then get back with time to spare. As long as you dont go to each one and stay there for a bit.

(Hoping you havnt been to London or are from another country - otherwise I feel silly).

My mom got an email yesterday showing are new flight schedule....due to some flight changes, it turns out that we might be staying there for over 12 hours(while going). That pisses me off becuase they're giving us any benifits, they're not paying for the overnight stay, they're not putting us in a different flight, they're not even willing to give us our money back! Check this out, they want us to pay $300 per person to cancel out tickets($900 total)! My dad is trying to haggle something out of them. Ridiculous!
