Hi
This post is both question and answer
The answer part is that I read post about "NO DISC" error
in Philips DVDR890/051 recorders and some one posted this link
to philips firmware update here is the post link
https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=166367
Anyway I had had the same problem with DVD +RW discs
So I downloaded the firmware and followd instructions and all went well
I now have 2 new functions to do with DVD+Rs, but the DVD+RW "NO DISC" error is still there.
So does anyone know what to do. I called Philips, silly me, and listens to some nice music. I dont want to take it back for service unless I am absolutlel sure it's broke or is this just a deep down fualt in the machine
I am using Packard Bell DVD+Rs and DVD+RWs. I have to date recorded
220 +Rs with no problem when I record with fresh RWs all goes well until I try and put another thing on or want to erase it
Sorry this is so long ,but it might be useful info to someone even if I dont get an answer.
By the way, please dont suggest cleaning discs I bin there done that
and anyway remember I am talking about brand new discs.
Thanks
