I have been searching (on these forums and elsewhere) on how to rip a DVD to HDD and keep it encrypted. I have only found how to rip the DVD to HDD decrypted.
Is this even possible? My goal is to keep the movie "legally" encrypted and be able to watch it from the HDD with TheaterTek (or any other player).
Any insight is much appreciated. Thanks!

Sure - easily done. Just open Windows Exployer, go to your DVD drive and drag and drop all files to where ever you want them. They will come completely encrypted (and will stay that way forever).
ICBM target coordinates:
26° 14' 10.16"N -- 80° 16' 0.91"W -
They will also be unwatchable since the decryption keys are not kept in the VIDEO_TS folder
Just what is this reality thing anyway? -
Thank you for your responses...
As my original post states, my goal is to keep the movie encrypted and be able to watch it. Possible? -
you cant just copy the files using drag and drop ...... the copy protection of the dvd prevents this

The answer to your question is no. The 'keys' to decrypt the DVD aren't in a area you can copy (look real close at the disks inner ring). This is why a straight Disk-2-Disk copy doesn't work.
