I captured a mpeg file with ATI AIW. The captured files was fine and in good quality, but just a little too big to burn on the cdr, so I split the files in 2 with TmpgEnc, but the sound & video is a little out of sync after the split. A friend of mine told me to De-multiplex the file then muliplex the with TmpgEnc. I tried it, but the result is still the same, the sound is still out of sync with the video.

As I understand it, De-Multiplexing is simply separating the video & sound into two files. Multiplexing puts the 2 files back together. Why bother? How will it match the sound to the video clip? Is there other method that I can try?

I appreciate if someone could give me some pointers.

  2. Your friend was half right,.. you need to de-multiplex and then delay the sound using something like cooledit pro and then re-multiplex

Multiplex with bbMPEG. At the output setting tab you can define the video or audio startup delay.
