  1. I'm looking for the guide on how to make an audio only VCD. I know i've seen it on here, but now that I want to try it, I can't find the blasted thing. Anyone know where I should be looking?

    Thanks in advance....

  2. Hi,

You can find my VCD Audio guides at

    http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/articles/index.html

They are also available in Spanish at www.videoedicion.org and www.dvdrspain.com

In my opinion, only audio (no images) is the most practical solution. Enjoy!

  3. Excuse my ignorance, but why would you want a sound only VCD? Surely it's easier to extract the sound as a wav file and then convert into a standard Audio CD?

  4. Hi,

Audio only VideoCD is interesting because you can record more than 6 hour of music on a single CD-R and to play it in almost any DVD player (you do not need an MP3 compatible player).

User-friendly interface for track access, through menus, is also possible. Have a look to the manuals. Bye

I myself wandered this, seeing this post pop up a few times. But don't most VCD players also accept MP3 files? Even ones not specfically marked as such?

Some, maybe many, do, but not all. And why should they, it requires an extra codec (mp3) in the DVD players firmware that VCD doesn't need.

Like mine, (Phillips 711) it does not play MP3's, so I needed this A-VCD.
It's 5yo, but now I don't need to upgrade, and why would I, it still works great! One of the best purchases I've ever made.
