  1. Hi All

I brought some BigPocket own media last week 2x 25 spindles made by princo...I've used these dvdr's before at 2x speed without any probs but after buying this last lot every film I backup has slight pausing all the way through it, I've tried 1x speed 2x speed and 4x speed with same results.

Just want to know if anyone else has had probs with latest batch of media.

    My burner is Pioneer A106D

Don't mean to be a wise ass, but.....

Some would ask "You got a good batch of Princos?"

I've never used them, and from the negatives, probably won't. I bet if you search the forums for Princo, you get more hits than you care to read.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

OK, so as not to be all wise ass, I did just search for princo. It returned 1987 matches (now 1988). That's a lot of talking about princo, and I bet most of it is bad news.

  4. I'm new to dvdr and only tried a few brands and at first thses bigpockets worked fine but this last batch are bad, I've reformatted my H/D to see if it was somint I installed that was causing these skipping/pausing effects
when playing them on my standalone.

But after the reinstall still same results, So i just poped down to a computer fair to get some different media, I saw some dvdr media asked the guy if they was princo he said no its there own brand discwrite somint like that anyhow they was princo and same results after the first burn

I'v just drove back down told him they was princo and didn't want princo as I just wasted £45 on them from bigpockets, so swopped them for ritek GO4 doing first burn now fingers crossed.

It's been my experience that Princo blanks are to be avoided even if you are given them!
If they don't fail during burn, you probably won't be able to read them after.

Never had any problems with Riteks (03 & 04).

Is that Bolton UK? I'm about 4 Miles to your South if it is.

    Cheers ....

  6. I haven't done an ID on them, but in march I bought 50 lead/princos from Shop4tech.com and they all seemed to work fine, I have a couple left.

Just got another 50, so far as I can tell they are fine. Only burned 4 of the new ones though so far. One is only about 3 gigs though.

I did do alot of testing and playing around with a author program and shrinking program, and the disk I burned has one spot where it seems to have a skip over about 1-2 seconds of the movie. Rather this was a burning problem or with the stuff I did or the disk I am not entirely sure.
This was a 12gig capture (total) eventually fit onto a 4.7gig DVD -R, It does work, and the quality is decent but not perfect of course.

My burner is a toshiba sd-r5002, And I use nero and Tmpgenc DVD author for burning. My DVD player is a Norcent DP300 and all my disks play well, and I have tested a few on other players.

So far though I can write only 1x on lead/princos they seem to work fine for me.
