Hi guys
I am not one to normally post a question before reading the FAQ but I have no idea where to begin so please ba patient.
I have been capturing using Leadtek Win2000 software till now.
As I am a n00b to capturing and didn’t have much time to search for new software, I used the WinTV software that came with the card.
I captured mainly with .wmv format.
i want better quality so I went out and got a Canopus ADVC-100.
I want to capture everything from good quality TV shows to best quality movies and getting the most of my megs but more importantly a format that’s editable. also easy to use but powerful software.
If you have any advice, please share it. I spend a lot of time now capturing certain things to post on a public website later.
Thanks!

The ADVC-100 is a good choice for transferring video to your computer. DV is easy to edit. Virtualdub, and quite a few commercial programs work well. I use WINDV to transfer to my harddrive and TMPGenc for encoding to MPG. Check the guides to the left for more information.
