See topic. I am thinking of getting a DVC II, and the only editing program I really know how to use is Adobe Premier...

You can't capture using Adobe Premier and the Dazzle DVC II together. You can only edit the results of capturing with the Dazzle and MovieStar (which come with the DVC II).

You can edit your captures with any program you like, not just Dazzle's. I wouldn't suggest using Dazzle's editing software.
Also it's Premiere. -
I found that you can only edit MPEG1 and AVI (so far)stuff with Premiere 6, apart from all the DV stuff of course.
So if you make something on the DVC II you have to produce it to one of the MPEG1 formats.
VCD is MPEG1 but the quality is not so good so don't produce it as that. I use MPEG1 22mB/min with the sound
at 44100/224000 which is the standard for VCD.
It's really a lot faster with the DVC II if you capture the same that you produce so that
the DVC doesn't have a hard time making up your MPEG1.
After you produce your MPEG1 open it into Premiere and edit it.
If you turn DMA on for your hard drive.....and it's fast enough (7200/100ATA min) you can play back the edited
video and check out the lip synch. If it's not so good you can lock the video stream and
drag the audio about until it's right.
I use the Panasonic Plugin if I've got lots of time or the CinemaCraft one if I don't to generate a VCD with Nero 5.0
