just browsing and came across this card.

i am upgrading my cap card, but i dont really want to get a AGP card as my Gainward Geforce TI 4200 is great for gaming, and im not too willing to pay for a new ATI Radeon 9700/9800, though here in the uk, the price of the ATI and canopus advc-100 are close.

im on the verge of buying a canopus advc-100, but ive heard good things about the AIW cards, i just wanted to know what this PCI card is like and if it is good enough to meet my needs to backup old vhs and tv caps, it might be a cheaper alternative. this card is about 1/2 the price of the canopus advc-100 ...

so what i wanted to know is regarding the

Sapphire All In Wonder 64MB PCI VE Pro Retail

    - can this card do realtime hardware encoding, just avi, or both?
    - what is the quality of the video like?
    - is it a stereo tuner? (if it doesnt, i have a audigy, shouldnt be a
    problem)
    - how much does it cost?

any info would be much appreciated

And I promise it'll give you 1/2 the functionality of the CANOPUS

true the canopus can't do hardware mpeg-2 in real time like the ati..but the CANOPUS does everything it can do much high level of function, quality and stability

the last (STABILITY) is not something you get with an ati product

can this card cap regualr AVI (raw/huffyuv/picvideo) as well as realtime hardware mpeg-2 ?

i see what u mean bought the canopus though, you get what you pay for...
though the price difference is that big. this card will soley be used as a cap card...but will it conflict with my AGP gfx card ?

Plenty of people get the all in wonder working fine

    But plenty have mucho problems
I suggest If you only have one computer..
    GET the canopus

If you own several , you can swap the card around till you get the ATI working great..
MY ALL IN WONDER PCI with the eariler RAGE FURY engine captures into
AVI with huffy fine, but I think when your later RADEON got HARDWARE support (my mpeg capture is SOFTWARE BASED)it became more difficult to do the VIDEO for WINDOWS thing so I didn't see any of the review staing that you can still capurte to AVI with this card*.. I also see that if you use it with the ATI personal video recorder the best you can do is 1/5 DVD quality of 2MEGA BIT a second..this bites...
But you can do better with Pinnacle 8 supplied

    * If I'm wrong about the new limit to capability..pleas someone correct me!
