  1. i bought an optorite dvd writer yesterday and although i have some problems i can write dvd's with it and things can only get better however
    it can write dvd+r, dvd+rw, dvd-r. dvd-rw etc.
    but if i burn a dvd with it how do i know which type it is? or does it mean when it's burned it will be all of those types?
    i've really not got a clue lol
    i want to burn dvd-r but not sure if that is what im burning
    please explain

    DVD-r and dvd+r are differnt types of physical media.

    You already decided what kind of DVD disk you wanted with the purchase.The package listed what kind of physical media you bought. Apparently your burner automatically detects what kind it is and burned it accordingly.

  4. i understand now but the price list i have for the dvd's i bought says 4x dvd discs sp, what does sp mean and on the dvd it says dvd r
    so im still kind of stumped

  7. i checked with nero didc info they are dvd -r
    if a dvd is x4 and a cd is x24 does it mean the cd writes 6 times faster than the dvd?
    i know i sound stupid but im not just new to this lol
