  1. I had a pioneer DVR-105 it lastet about 4 months then it burned down, now i have a DVR-106 only to find that all the media i have doensīt work with this drive, does anybody know why?? It seems i have the same problems as i had on my 105 with cheap bulkpaq media,it will write fine, but only about 1GB on the disc is readable. when doing a DVD the image pixelates about an hour or so in,when doing Data only about 1GB is readable. Is this a firmware issue,or should i exchange this and go back to another DVR-105??

    Please answer quick

Sounds like its your media to me. Have you tried different disc?

  3. You havenīt read the post through.. The media i used and worked fine with DVR-105, and it doesnīt work with DVR-106 how is that??

The problem i had on the 105 was limited to purple bulkpaq gen3,so i only use Datawrite and they worked very good.. So i wanted to use the same Datawrite on DVR-106 but they do not work..

  4. It's a different drive, it will have different firmware and write strategy, different optics...

Just because your media worked in your old drive doesn't mean you will have exactly the same results from another drive.

You will probably find yourself back at square one experimenting with media to find some that suits the recorder and target hardware.

  5. That sucks.. why the hell canīt they just make some crap that works.. This is gonna cost me a bundle.. Are there also differencies within the same drive?? What i am thinking here,is get my money back on the 106 and buy another 105,will my media work here again??

If i wait till somebody releases a firmware hack (like with the 105) will it be corrected by this firmware? When i had the 105 i never used it with the original 1.21 firmware it came with, but imediatly changed to a hacked firmware, that would allow me to rip faster, write with 2x at 1x media and region free.. Do you think that when this firmware arrives for the 106 i will be able to use my media (as they usually support lots more in hacked firmware)??
