  1. Does anyone know about a good and realtivly easy to learn program to make 3D-animations that can be overlayed into previously recorded video. The main goal I'd like to reach is that I want to add exit fire from a gun fireing on a amateur feature film that we're planning to make.

    Also, state the price, so it's not a $50.000 piece of software...

  2. The best on the market - in my opinion - is Ulead Cool 3D Production Studio.

    The price is reasonable and there's not a huge learning curve.

    you can also try Blender.

    used to be payware, then it was deadware, but the community bought the rights and now it's freeware.

    also, Particle Illusion is pretty badass, and it's got an expansion library containing muzzle flashes!

    If you keep your eye on the newsstand, Digit magazine from the UK is going to be giving away either Particle Illusion SE or an older version of Particle Illusion on their bonus cd in the next issue - $13 for a nice pack of software!
