how do burn a mpeg/vcd on cd-r using nero after usin tmpgenc

I am having a problem with burning an mpeg movie file onto a cd-r using the latest nero burning program. At first i had to convert the avi file into vcd format using "Tmpgenc" and it shows up as an mpeg once it has finished encoding or whatever. so now it is time for me to burn the movie file using nero. so i start nero up select video cd and then select ntsc from "encoding resolution", i press open and my file does not show up, when i press the icon at the bottom and select "all files" and select the movie i want to burn, a msg pops up saying "Unexpected File Format" so pretty much im stuck any quick pointers or a resolutuion to this problem would be greatly appreciated. I am just a newbie at this stuff, and im sorry if this has been postes 10 times but i need to figure this out. thanx again
