  1. Hi anybody out there!

I Tried to author a DVD with DVDLab which seems to be a great software.

Unfortunately I had some delay-problems with my authoring-result.

What I try to do is the following: I record TV-stuff with my dvb-s and safe it as PVA-stream. Afterwards I use PVA-Cut to get rid of the material I don't like and convert the resulting file to mpeg with ds-jar. So far so good. The mpeg-file seems to be all right when I play it in PowerDVD or the build in Player of my card-tool -- no delay at all.

No I try use DVDLab to author my videos and burn them on a dvd. The output video is fine, but the sound seems to be behind the video the more I get to the end of the video. This happens with every video I tried, and there's no change no matter if I use fast or flexible multi-plexing. I even tried to import the whole mpeg, let DVDLab demultiplex the stream or use another tool (TMPGEnc) to demultiplex the stream before importing it into DVDLab -- no change: after exporting it, theres still a viewable gap between sound and video at the end of the file. I tried different versions of DVDLab too, but my problem is still alive in Version 1.2.2 b.

Is there anybody with an idea what I can do to fix this problem? What I am doing wrong?

Thanks for your help in advance,

  2. Here's some ideas:

Maybe: Its the mpeg not DVDLab

    - Author the file in IFOEdit burn and play on DVD player. Same problem? Then something is wrong with the file

    Maybe: Its DVDLab

    - If you can do a test that is less than a 1G file, author the DVD in IFOEdit, take the VOB and import it into DVDLab but do not let it demux, burn and test

I'm guessin its the file. I don't think DVB MPEG is the same as DVD MPEG. Especially after you cut it up. Here is a thread that may give you some ideas: http://www.dvbviewer.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1567

  3. Hello again!

I am sorry for the late reply. Thanks for your tips. I think I found the fault. Might be the stream or the demuxing-function. Everything seems to be OK when I even use ds.jar to demux the files. The demuxing-engine might be better or ds.jar is able to correct faults in the stream?!?

This makes me able to author DVDs without having to recreate my mpegs and with keeping the good quality of the used tv-encoders.

    Thanks for your help,
