  1. Hi. I am very new to this DVD, SVCD stuff.
I have managed to burn some video from the PC and am very impressed with the results.
I have one problem at the moment. I converted a DIVX to MPEG2 to burn on a CD as SVCD. Everything was fine but ,no sound.

used a program to get the sound and convert to WAV. Now this takes up a lot more space on top of what you already need. So I need to convert to MP3. I used my own MP3 converter that I use for music, but when I go to use TMPEGEnc and choose to import the MP3 music it does no recognise it.

Looking at the help guides very carefully, theres a section were it tells you to download HEADache.rar anf a few other .rar files. Now I done exactly what it tells you to do, but when the files are in a folder no program recognises it to open it up. theres something I am not doing as all the other programs I have downloaded work just fine..

    Can anyone help me please

    Thanks in advance..

That is where you are going wrong, SVCD requires mp2 encoded audio, not mp3.

BTW, rar files can be unpacked using winrar.

  3. Thanks you.
The reason I need to convert the sound is because after I burned a SVCD I had no sound?? So I was using one of these converters to convert the sound from the DIVX to wav or MP3 so I can get sound onto the CD.

Were can I get WINRAR from??

    Thanks

    Try a search on www.google.com

  5. If there is no sound on your SVCD, something went wrong BEFORE the encoding stage (assuming you encodeed audio and video together). If your source is avi, extract the audio using virtualdub, use full processing mode, compression=none, conversion to 441000hz sample rate if needed. Then use this wav file as the input to your encoder.

    winrar, try google.

  6. HI. I have used virtualdub and it works fine, but it takes up a lot more space. Is this correct??

The wav file from virtualdub will be quite large as it is uncompressed.
Use this wav file as the audio source file when you encode to SVCD and then make sure the resulting mpeg plays ok before burning to CD.
