When trying to encode from a VIDEO_TS to convert it to Mpeg2enc I get this Apple script error pop up when I hit Encode:

    Applescript error

The variable _mpdecode is not defined. (-2753)

I think I installed everything correctly, any ideas why?

  2. Email me as many details as possible on the application status before you get the error (detailed settings, which tab is visible, have you selected a preset, etc) so as I can reproduce it and fix it.

The quick presets doesn't have an option for Mpeg2 only Mpeg1 the video size is 640 x 272 with autosize 2.35:1 and the framerate at NTSC FILM. The video codec is MPEG2 {.MPG} (mpeg2enc).
I get the feeling I haven't installed properly but I followed the instructions (downloaded mpeg2enc etc.).

  4. OK, I found the error. I will fix it in next release. You can avoid it by clicking the "Options" tab before encoding.

Ah, ok. I don't get the Applescript error any more but now I get this error coming up in the terminal.

Encoding started on Fri Jul 4 17:43:54 BST 2003
    /Volumes/MortalFire/MOVIES/VIDEO_TS: Unknown format
INFO: [yuvscaler] yuvscaler (version 1.7.0) is a general scaling utility for yuv frames
    INFO: [yuvscaler] (C) 2001-2002 Xavier Biquard <xbiquard@free.fr>
INFO: [yuvscaler] yuvscaler -h for help, or man yuvscaler
**ERROR: [yuvscaler] Could'nt read YUV4MPEG header!

I also get this error when trying to extract just the sound by unpressing 'encode video' and setting the codec to 'passthrough (ffmpeg)'

Encoding started on Fri Jul 4 17:48:00 BST 2003
    /Volumes/MortalFire/MOVIES/VIDEO_TS: Unknown format

but when I use MPEG4 [.AVI] (mencoder) as the codec setting it works just fine.

  6. VIDEO_TS folder input is only supported for mencoder engine. For ffmpeg engine and others you have to use VOB input. However when encoding to mpeg-2, VIDEO_TS folder input is supported if you also select the "Use mplayer to decode" option.
