  1. A newbie question. I am using an ati radeon 64ddr
vivo, an amd athlon 1ghz and winME. Any time I
try to go higher than the "good quality" setting
I start to drop frames. What should I do to stop
this? O/C or upgrade to a faster CPU or perhaps
use a raid for files. I checked the faq and didn't
see anything to help, but maybe I just missed it.

    Your help is appreciated.
    Thanks

  3. Try to lower your motion estimator (me).

    I have a win2000,p2-550, 128meg, 20gb72rpm and aiw-128/32. Mine is set for 21me @480x480 mpeg-2 2.7kbps. While recording, it will drop 2%, but the source file is in-sync (a/v). Then I flask/frameserve/cce to make svcd clips.

    Itīs all about I/O speed.
Make sure your hard drive is fast enough - sustained transfer rates at or over 25MB/s should be good for starters, but try to get an UDMA/100 drive AND controller card... that will surely do it....

...and make sure DMA is enabled for your HD.
