Anyone out there into piercing?

After months of nagging, I finally took my daughter this week and let her have her navel pierced.
Had to go with her since she is only 15. I guess it's not really that big of a deal.

How many here have piercings?

It's a surgical procedure, it won't rip further (unless helped) I won't grow back together (at least without another operation)

I remember cutting my tongue one time on a Snak-Pack lid, blead like a stuck pig and hurt like H*ll !!

Of course that was was before they redesigned the lids so that stupid kids like us would quit getting hurt!

The forked tongue look is (IMO) just gross. Why would you want to look like a snake? I had my ears pierced 4 times a long time ago but I havent even wore an earring in like 3 or 4 years.

What about tattoos? I did that also, but nobody would ever now cuz its now out in the open.

One (maybe two)piercings in each ear (with the wearing of traditional earrings, not something like in tgpo's photo).
A belly button ring/stud.
Maybe also a nose stud (not a ring, ughh ).

I have a couple of female friends with that done and in my opinion they are still attractive. I think also if that is the limit they can still get away with being accepted as normal by most parents.

i guess in this day and age,kids think this makes them"cool". i can't even remember what was "cool" in my day. there is no way i would ever let either of my sons do that kind of stuff. once they are old enough to be out on thier own,they can do as they wish.

when you are young and do something like that,you might regret it later in life.

When I was young, only girls, pirates, and guys that lived alternative lifestyles had earings.
Now, if you had a really nice car like a 'cuda or Charger, then you were cool!
Also, if you could do a handstand on your skateboard!

in my opinion, here are the rules:

Piercings:

Women- 1 Small ring/stud in each ear is nice, MAYBE 2 at a push!
a subtle belly peircing is ok, not my sort of thing but looks nice
tongue/nose etc looks a bit slutty, NB- LOOKS, not is IMO

Men- Unless its a religion thing (sum asians have peirced ears), i dont think guys look gd with any piercings, and dont say "it goes with my dress sence" cos frankly, goths look REALLY wierd and unatural, oh, and if you are "expressing your feelings" u need a shrink cos it aint natural to feel black inside IMO

Tatoos-

Women- a SMALL one on the shoulder, lower back looks ok, doesn;t do much for me i can see why some like it

Men- unless your are 6`5" and REAL muscular, u look a bit stupid with all these bad ass tatoos when you cant bicep curl more than 40 Lbs

Oh, and who would PAY to look like a serpent??? u get the worst of both worlds, u cant see in infra red & smell the air but u look like a snake!

m8, the worst thing about it is that they probably severed all the nerves, meaning she has all loss of movement in the end of her tongue! i expect she has a lisp/worse speach and she will never tongue roll again!
