  1. I have music DVD's that have over 50 music videos on them. I want to take certain videos off the original and create my own disk with various music dvd's from the others. I have a dvd player but no capture device. Can I use a capture device that my dvd player could go into and just capture say music video 25 on my dvd then copy it to a new dvd disc. If someone under stands this completely please tell me if I can do that and with what equipment/software. Thanks for the time and help

  2. If you want to take certain videos of a DVD just invest in a DVD-Rom drive. It is a cheap option as a drive these days will set you back around $60 (Australian dollars, not sure what they are worth US).

Then just rip the files off it you need (the process is described in the guides section to the left).

The next thing you will need (if like you said you wish to put these videos back on a DVD) is a DVD burner (retail for around AUS$400). Again the guides section has better explanations of the process to do this than I could give in a single post.

  4. Part of the problem is that the files on the dvd (VOB'setc) are not separate for each music dvd. Thers like 8 to 10 songs in one vob file so I have to rip the entire disc then piece together what I want. Seems like a very long process. I was thinking of using a capture and just queing the song I wanted and just copying that over but I dont know what capture device to use. I have a dvd+r burner and some software.

  5. use VOBEdit or any VOB cutting tool to section out the parts you want

  6. It's doable (the capture way), but you are going to face a few problems such as macrovision and your video will be of a lower quality then if you did the ripping method.

Investigate some more into the software Mindbeats suggested. I've never used it so I couldn't offer you any advice on it.
