  1. hi, just got this card. when i try capturing tv using third party app, it will always capture both regular audio and sap audio (if sap supported channel). i cannot get it to only capture regular audio. anyone know how to do this?

win xp sp1, latest leadtek drivers.

  3. I'm having the same exact problem under the same conditions. I also am running Win XP SP1.

Leadtek WinFast PVR audio is fine. Audio with either InterVideo WinDVR or CyberLink PowerVCR II produces normal audio in left channel and SAP audio in right channel. For my case, only CATV channels 15, 17, 19, and 20 are affected.

I am running current drivers from Leadtek site, have tried re-installing drivers, etc., etc... nothing I have tried has made any difference.

  5. Same problem here.

Leadtek tech support says that they're aware of the problem and has suggested checking the web site once/week for a driver fix.

jwaxman, thanks very much for your reply.

Does onyone know of a work around for tis problem. Maybe using other drivers for cards that are based on the same chipset???????

I really want to use WinDVDRecorder, but I am not able to because of this problem.
    Thanks.

  7. How about playing with the balance setting for Line-In in the WinXP volume control applet?

jwaxman, that will eliminate the static coming from the right speaker. But then the TV program sound is coming from only one speaker instead of two. So, it does not sound good.

  9. Willing to spend a couple of bucks for a temporary and imperfect fix?

Buy a Y-adapter at Radioshack to separate the right and left channels.
Run a mono wire from the left channel. Connect this into the sound card through a mono-to stereo adapter. Probably about $10 and leaves you without "true" stereo.

I'm probably just going to wait for them to fix the driver.

I am kind of curious as to whether any of the registry settings within the "DriverData" sections related to the card are relevant. Not curious enough to crash my system playing with them though.

(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/ search for Leadtek / 4 sections with DriverData )

    same problem here...

tried installing btwincap, it removes the SAP channel, but sound is mono.
problem with this apprpach is that PVR and so remote don't work.

also tried under linux, also removes the SAP channel, but sound is mono.

another possible solution is to use capture software which doesn't initialize the card, e.g. vdub. The problem with vdub is that it doesn't allow to capture higher than VCD. so if all what you need is VCD, vdub is a way to go.

i was also thinking about modding virtual vcr (which comes with sources) in a way that it will not initialize the card, so it will work like vdub.

What sound card is everybody using? I have an audigy sound card. I was wondering if a different sound card might make a differece. I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz in another machine. Is it worth a try to move the tuner card to the other macine????

Is there any other PVR software like WinDVD recorder that will work with this tuner card? I want the computer to be able to due the following:

    1) Turn on by itself for scheduled program recording.
    2) Record to DVD-r/rw directly.

any WDM compliant third party app (whic is about 99% of all existing apps) will work with this card, but you will have the sound problem.

  15. New drivers and app (dated today) eliminates SAP problem with Winfast PVR and enables Directburn. Unfortunately it doesn't take care of the SAP problem in 3rd party apps.

Was there a problem with SAP with Winfast PVR?
It was always working fine for me with Winfast PVR.

It (SAP) kept turning itself on during TV viewing.
