  1. aight, so my friend doesnt have a tv or have the money for one. all he really needs one for is to play some playstation or whatever. so i suggested that he gets a cheap as hell capture card, like even those usb 1.1 ones cuz theyre so cheap.

he doesnt need to capture...just merely use his pc as a place to output video....

now, those usb ones...i know they dont capture too well, but do they display fine until you hit capture; before they start dropping mad frames?

or whatever...just looking for the absolute cheapest capture card that doesnt break when you touch it....

(or would those dumb vga box's be a better solution)

    thanks

  2. I think you will be looking for a PCI TV card or something similar that has a composite in. You should be able to find one for <$50.

Im not sure if you could play a playstation througfh USB 1.1 capture. The game play might not be smooth.

try the Leadtek WinFast TV 2000 XP Delux (gee...the marketing boffins had fun with that name didn't they ).

It is cheap as chips and has antenna, composite and s-video inputs. Also comes with a remote and an FM tuner as well.

I have an AverTV card that I got for $10 after rebate ($40-$30 back). CompUSA sale, has happened several times in past months. Nice toy, worth $10 (but not much more).
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

Try ATI's TV Wonder VE or TVWonder PCI (VE is cheaper, but I'm not sure it has video in.)
