Hi all,
I hope someone can help me here. i cut a movie down to fit on 1 cd using the guide posted here. i used 2 pass VBR. i burned it with nero and it worked perfectly. then i tried adding chapters and burning it with vcdeasy and it came out looking like a scrambled cable channel with no sound. it was so pixelated that you couldnt even tell what was on the screen. the chapters worked fine though. i am very new to this and have no idea what i did wrong. does vcdeasy not work with VBR? if any one has seen this type of problem before or thinks they can help, please reply on this forum or email me at hensley_joe01@hotmail.com. thanks in advance. Nope, when we come to these two, (Nero vs VCDEasy) the situation is usually reversed - perfect with VCDEasy, crap with Nero. So, you have one and the same mpeg (1 or 2?) that looks fine when authored with Nero but crap when authored with VCDEasy?!? Unprecedented. What if you just author with VCDEasy (don't burn) and use Nero to burn the cue/bin from VCDEasy? Only thing I can think of, is that VCDEasys burning engine (or some settings) doesn't like your system.

its an MPeg1 format. i set vcdeasy to vcd 2.0 on the main screen, but im not sure of the difference between the two. i actually tried authoring it with vcdeasy and burning with nero and it comes out ok, but the chapters dont work. is the cue/bin two separate files? i am very new to all of this. when i tried nero it would only let me burn the bin file. am i doing something wrong here also? this was all with the first movie i tried, so then i decided to try a different movie and converted a divx rip to mpeg1 (non-standard) using the guide also to fit on one cd. when i opened it with vcdeasy, it wouldnt even let me add chapters. it said possible number of chapter points was 1. what the #%&#??? Please help. im running out of blank cd's!! thanks in advance!

I use VCDEasy and Burnatonce(not nero)
if you have a rewriteable drive and CDRW's experiment w/ those, honestly i do that all the time.
.cue and .bin are two seperate files, but both are needed
.cue basicly tells the software thats going to burn the .bin how to layout the CDR
.bin is the data
So I take my mpeg load it into VCDEasy Make the chapters (have PBC checked) and create the .bin/.cue
then I double click the .cue in explorer(burnatonce needs to be installed)
Burnatonce will open and click on write.
I use this method because it lets me burn 800MB MPEGs on 700MB CDRs with no hassels -
Thanks ejoc,
That worked for me. I used nero and burned the cue/bin file and it worked great. i tried that once before, but it didnt work. i mustve done something wrong the first time. i work nights and it seems im always falling asleep while trying to do this shit. now im fighting with my second movie. I encoded an mpeg1 from a divx rip using tmpge v2.510. it worked great as far as the file size goes, but when i load it into vcdeasy, it wont let me add chapters. it says possible number of chapter points is 1. any ideas on this one? im hoping maybe it was just a bad encoding. im running it thru tmpge again to re-encode it to mpeg for a second time. hopefully that will fix it. thanks again! ill keep you posted on the results. Ejoc - Since Burnatonce (last time I looked) and VCDEasy uses the same burning engine (CDRDAO) - Why use Burnatonce to burn the cue/bin?

For whatever reason, I cant burn w/ VCDEasy, never really looked into it since using burnatonce was easy.
