Firewire, Video Studio & a new pc user

Hi,
I've been a mac user for 15 years so the transformation is tough.
I'm using a firwire card & video studio 4 that came bundled together. By accident I got it working for a day & then using quicktime 4 I managed to mess it up.

I can't get it to capture, I'm using the sony DVMC-2 to feed a signal, everything works fine on the imac & it worked for a while.

I believe I need to locate something called
"MSDV Camera & VCR" at least from a search on this forum it seems this is needed.

Any help is appreciated,

There is no other sofware on the computer, I want to set it up to make SVCD's, Thanks, Jerry

Here's a link to someone that had the same problem. I emailed to see if they got the problem fixed but haven't heard anything.
