Hi,
I was just comparing picture VCDs made from Ulead DVD Picture Show 2 to Vegas Video 4.0c.
The stills of Ulead DVD Picture Show 2 were far superior to that of Vegas Video 4.
I have tried using the PAL 720*576 and the PAL 352*288 reolutions, but no good. What option is it in VV that will make the digital stills better?
Thanks

VV4 is a far superior product to Ulead DVDPS. If you cant get as good or better stills with Vegas, you are doing something wrong.
First to get best quality stills, use an uncompressed format like bmp or tiff. Jpegs are highly compressed and lots of data lost and that is going to transfer into your video. Second, check your project settings, I bet you arent rendering to the best quality and maybe forgot to check.

You are correct, best quality was not checked. HOWEVER, I still think the still images on Ulead DVD Picture Show 2 are very slightly better. They are crisper and sharper. This difference is minimal and I will use VV for my authoring since I have so many options.
Ulead is good if I have 10 minutes to throw something together, but otherwise, VV is better!
