This q comes up quite often, and I still haven't understood why. VCD's are meant to be played with VCD players - stand alone or software based. If you want anything that is going to be played with Media Player, WinAmp or such, why create a VCD?
If you have a VCD, (and not the mpeg) recreate the mpeg with VCDGear for computer viewing.

cda is CD Audio track, afaik. Take a look under WHAT IS/VCD for what to expect to see in a VCD.

  5. yeah i know but when it loaded in winamp it was CD Data Track 02, and it was 48:06 minutes and the other one CD Data Track 03 was 36:10 minutes
and if the cd is audio, wasn't it supposed to play in winamp? i'm asking for something which could convert or open these files...

  6. If you are loading a disc that's supposed to be a vcd and windows sees it as an audio cd with tracks instead of the proper folders then I'm afraid your vcd is an unplayable bad burn.

    when it loaded in winamp
The question is: What happens when you put it in your stand alone DVD player? What happens if you try to play it with a software DVD player?

  9. I once made a VCD that played fine on all standalone vcd players.

But then a guy tried it in his portable pc and it showed up as a audio cd.

I think it had something to do with the disc beeing 80min and the portable
cd-rom's are not as good as the once for a stational pc.

    Just my experience 8)

    Good Luck!!!

  10. Put the vcd in your cd-rom and open windows explorer and scroll down to you cd-rom drive letter. Double click and see what appears in explorer as the disc's content. You should see 5 folders:
    Cdi
    Ext
    Mpegav
    Segment
    Vcd

The .dat file is in the Mpegav folder.

If all you see is audio tracks then your vcd is no good. There is no way you are going to view or extract any movie from the disc.
Such problems occur when burning too fast or using bad media and usually stem from people churning out as many vcd's as they can, as quickly as they can for profit.
