I have a Pinnacle PCTV PCI card. I currently use IuVCR to capture and TMPGEnc Plus to convert.

I now have a copy of Pinnacle Studio 8.5. My dad got it and decided not to use it. I've loaded it and messed around with it a bit. I was able to load a 507Mb AVI capture of my son's track meet. I was able to create a WMA file of 700K and send it to his grand parents. Worked great.

I tried to capture with it. It sees my card and defaults to channel 3. I use the composit inputs with my 8mm camera and see nowhere to change it in PS 8.5.

Any ideas on how to change it?

Is this program worth it, or should I stuick with the IuVCR/Huffy and TMPGEnc combo?

Is CCE 2.66 worth it? I can get that one too.

    Thanks!

I assume you are trying to capture from an analog camera. I have a DV can and I just plug the cam to the nearest firewire plug ( I'm runnin XP ) and I turn the cam on to "PLAY" mode, and it immediately recognizes it and open Pinnacle Studio 8. You go to capture and press the START button. I do not have a capture card. It's really so much easier that way. I thought about buying one to capture from my older cam but I'm lucky to own a Phillips DVD recorder. You plug ANYTHING in that thing ( including Cable or satelite source ) RCA audio/video, S-Video, and Firewire for direct transfer for DV cams. It also has a built in tuner for TV input. You just que your source and press record. It burns on the fly a 1-2-3-4 hour settings. Works everytime for me on DVD+R disks.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

I dumped Pinnicale Studio 8.5 since it won't capture from a card made by the same company!

I'll stick with Virtual Dub and TMPGEnc Plus.
