    Hi,

I got recently some BeAlls from Meritline /they were pretty fast/ but now I'm a little confused because in the posts here I read that BeAll's surface is silver while the discs I got are with white branded surface /the spindel looks the same as on Meritline's page though/.
On BeAll's web site www.bealldev.com there are no such discs as sent to me. The media type listed on the spindel label is different from those on their web page too. Any comments on this?

Media code is BeAllG00. I guess this answers the question.

  4. Gregg,
You say the surface is branded? Like in the picture below (from shop4tech.com)? Or is it a plain white top?

Yes, they look exactly the same. The silver surface is visible under the white print. I guess they are the same /media code as well/ as reffered to in the DVD Media section, maybe they started to brand them later?
They burn at 2X in my Sony DRU500A/X without any problems.
I'm expecting a sample of BeAll printable from www.rima.com to arrive these days so I'll let you know about those as well.

    Cheers!

  6. I bought a spindle of 50 of the printable BeAlls from Rima. They work fantastic. I also see that the Meritline/CDRDVDRMedia have the new BeAll disks that are 1/2/4X certified, they're over $2 a piece though.

I saw that too. I think I'll wait for those prices to go down to $2 or less before I try them.

  9. Did you get them from Meritline? Are they the branded top as in the picture in my earlier post?

Yes, they are braded exactly like in the photo. I got them on weekend sale at www.Sonnam.com. A local computer retailer. I always buy locally. It saves me a lot of money in shipping, and they're are always deals to be had.

Obviously currently there are no more unbranded BeAlls on sale.
I wrote an email to www.cdrdvdrmedia.com asking them whether they have unbranded BeAlls but I have no answer so far.

    Cheers!

  12. I've sent them several emails over the course of a few weeks, and I've not heard a one response on any of the questions I asked.

I got a reply from www.cdrdvdrmedia.com and they say they carry both types but the silver top are out of stock that's why they sent me the branded ones. Maybe next time I should request specifically the silver top.

    Enjoy!

  14. Personally I like the branded ones better, fingerprints from mishandling (not everyone in my house is as diligent as I am) don't show up as easy, and they're easier to write on. Might have to order me up a fitty-pack with summa dem DVD cases.
