I got some clone disc media (manued by ritek) and it played on everything I put it in! even dvd players that refused to played dvd-rs!
So i decided **** it, I am going to buy 100 of these babys and they will do me for way over a year.
however I havent just made the plunge yet and when looking at my first burn I made a few months back (about 3 ) I noticed the following affect!
The dark purple is the burn area howevre its developed these bright purple spots!!!
Should I avoid this media or does these spots make little or no difference.
PLease help
Baker

Hey BJ_M what speed writers do you use cause damn. Hey Baker how you doin listen i was just wondering if you have had a new DVD2SVCD conversion guide from DVD to CVD cause if im correct the one that you show is your second guide right. ok im not a newbie i create some great great dvd rips to CVD but i used to use TMPEG and yea i loved it but then i got CCE and wow in One Pass CBR the results arent that good. too much pixelization when you zoom in on the dvd player and i never get any blocks on my dvd player when i use TMPEG. ok now there are several settings on CCE that i can chage, like right now i am using the MPEG STANDARD TEMPLATE. and yesterday i encoded a movie using ONE PASS VBR with all the bitrates the same and the Q factor was at 1 and the img. quality prio was also at 1 and well the quality was very very good i checked with bitrate viewer and the average Q Factor was 1.45. so if you know what i can do to get a little bit of a better picture plz write backOriginally Posted by BJ_MAn all in one guide for DVD to CVD/SVCD/DVD by cecilio click here--> https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/167502.php

I found some light colored spots on my ritek also and after closely looking at discs right after burning I found I had little pieces of dust on my discs before they were burn't and after removing the dust the spots are there.
I raise Cockatoos and can't avoid dust problems but I do check and blow off any dust before burning now.
You may want to look at your discs prior to burning.
