I would like to know if anyone here has run into a problem while burning a movie, but when you went back to erase the messed up disk........it as damaged and could not be read by your DVD drive??? I'm currently using Ritek DVD+RW disks with my NEC1100A DVD burner (the one that comes with the Dell Dimension). Is this normal? Is it maybe the Ritek disks or is it my NEC burner that is not working right? Any help is appreciated.

Same burner on a Dell Dimension here as well. I have burned a movie once to DVD+RW and had a new coaster after trying to burn to the same disc again as it sounds like you did.
Memorex DVD+RW used. Again, have only done this one time.
Firmware concern? I have no idea.
Could try contacting Dell as I may do myself.
Also, as far as I know, the NEC1100A drive will only burn +RW\+R, not -R or -RW. -
I have contacted Dell about this issue to find out that this is an ongoing problem that Dell knows about. I spoke to the tech support, then customer service to demand a new/different DVD writer. They are going to send me one and I suggest you do the same.
