  1. Hello

    I captured a 1 hour 10 minutes of video in Avi 352 x 288, 25fps
and during this time it dropped 9 frames. Now I use the synch version of Virtualdub and see no problems with my video regarding audio/video being out of sync. But generally how many frames is it safe to drop when capturing ?

Well 9 dropped frames is less than half a second in the whole capture, so I'd say that was good.

Also the dropped frames I assume include the audio, so sync should be OK.

I captured some old camcorder footage (Hi8) to AVI, then authored to DVD. I had 9 dropped frames in 1hrs 20 mins of video.

    The output DVD was fine.

I doubt the dropped frames were in a row, even if they were you'd hardly notice 1/3 second of missing video.
