Jurassic Park in *.AVI !! on one CD !!
    That is MPEG4 or Divix

Don't bother converting. It is a waste of time and effort.
Just guessing here but the bitrate would proberly be down in the 750-800 range to fit that movie on 1 CD. To convert it to a compliant VCD is pointless.

"I had a friend burn me jurassic park on a cd in """avi""" format." I guess its DivX

Full Movies in DivX will easily fit on a CDR Not nessasary Mpeg4

If its one large AVI use Vdub to split it in half, then Use TMPGEnc to make the VCD.mpg (Load a VCD template)
