I don't think you can use standard consumer type inkjet printers to print on disks. You have to buy printers that are modified for this purpose. From what I've heard, they're fairly expensive. They want a lot of money for a mod that they do to standard printers. Unless you're in the business of making a lot of CD or DVD disks, the investment would not be worth it.

Check the net -- even here at dvdrhelp there's been a buzz about the new printers that do CDs (and more) for $399 and less. -
epson 960 can print to CD/DVD directly with the adapter that all this new printers have, if yours don't you can contact epson and they will send the adapter free of charge, and it's just over $300 at amazon
epson 900 I think will be available in May and will print in CD/DVD for around $199. Pre-order at 199.99 at amazon
both printers print on paper also -
