  1. Hello,
I've been trying now for several weeks to burn D8 movies the way I want to. I have a feeling it's either my new system constraints or me, thats why I'm here asking for your help.
I capture my D8 tapes from my camcorder through the firewire ok. But when I go to burn the DVD I can either only get one D8 tape ( 60 minutes of digital8 ) or the utility says I've exceeded the 4.0G file size, even though, after caturing, the file property size says it's approx. 1.0G.
I capture using Windows Movie Maker, Roxio Videowave and Sonic MyDVD. With WMM I was able to control the quality ( bit rate etc ) a little and get the file down to 1.0G.
This may also have to do with me not understanding what terms mean what. For instance: capturing I understand, but what is Roxio doing to it when it's done capturing? Rendering? Transcoding? Encoding? Is there something more I can do once it's captured, before I try and burn ( the only term I understand so far)?
Sorry for the large append, but I've tried to do this for a while now, researched it here too, but still am having trouble understanding the whole process.
ANY help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Once you captured the video, did you try to change it to a form your DVD burner can use? E.g., Did you load it into a program like TMPGEnc and have it encode it to DVD format and then have your favorite burner put it on a DVD? You may want to try this way.
    Hello.
