  1. I have an ATI AIW 7500. When I capture in avi format i got a 35 GIG file for 30 minutes of video captured from VHS tape. Why is the file so big? I thought I saw somewhere that I should get something like 13 GIG per hour of video. Is there some setting I need to change? Capturing in avi 720x480, using Video Studio 6 to capture. Any replys are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your capturing to RAW uncompressed AVI, don't do that. Try Huffyuv, for 17 GB/hour or MJPEG for 9 GB/hour (varies with resolution for both).

  3. Do not capture uncompressed - use a compression codec to get files smaller. HuffYUV is a popular one.
