if you want perfect strangers to help you you should at least take the time to do the typing.
also, try putting something about your problem into the title of your post. -

Suggestion: Use the pre-set DVD profile to encode and use Program(Video+Audio) or Video + Audio to generate either an MPG file or two files, an mpv and an mpa for video and audio, depending on what proram you use next. This should work ok. If so, then experiment with the encoding settings. The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know. -
firstly i did'nt ask for abuse just advice, i am new 2 all this!
the file is in avi. from a ripped dvd.
the settings are dvd - pal - program video+audio - layer 2.
the sound is really loud and scratchy.
i normally write with prassi primo dvd but have got other programs i could use.
can anyone help now or do you need more info?? -
Silverbullet,
nobody's abusing you. It's just that the more info one gives, the best help he can get.
The settings you use appear to be correct. If you have just used the DVD template then it should produce good output.
Have you changed the audio bitrate (in details --> advanced settings)? Some players may have problems reproducing 64kbps audio. If it is at the standard bitrates (or at any value above 192kbps) it should be fine.
Have you tried playing the encoded MPEG file on the PC with Media player? Does it playback audio ok? Also, try encoding different material and test that. While you start, I would highly recommend using a DVD-RW (or +RW if your player can use it) to do tests. Costs much less
Good luck, and, we're here to help...The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know. -
