  1. I got my first 10 pack Ritek 1X DVD-R from RIMA.com and they seem to be light purple than dark purple. Can anyone tell me if they are fake or something?

I know my past Ritek DVD-R from Ebay I bought were dark purple and had that glue thing on the ring which from lots of post here, I read were Ritek (they work just fine).

I ordered from RIMA on the 18th March, so anyone ordered from RIMA recently RITEK brand 1X got light purple or dark purple?

I can't get Media info for my DVD-R since my DVD Burner doesn't support the feature used by ADVDINFO and DVDINFO.

Have you tried the latest DVDinfo from:

    http://www.nicsoft.com.au/

It says it requires ASPI 4.1.7.2, but it does not from what I have read on his thread on this site. I have it on my pc with no ASPI drivers and an external burner and I can read DVD info now...

If you have already tried, then ignore this post.
    Use what works for you...

  3. @Exiler. I still have a spindel of Ritek 1X that I ordered from Rima in december. I am not sure about the light or dark purple thing you are talking about since I can't compare with another batch of dvd-r but I'd say they're light purple to me.

I'll try DVDINFO on them tonight and get back to you on that.

  4. Hi,

On 3/11/2003 I ordered a 100 Ritek 1X from Rima. I posted about the glue in the middle since this was the first Ritek I've used, they've done fine. Mine are dark purple.

    Hope this helps, Jerry

  6. I think its ritek making crappy discs. I had a batch and it skips near the end of the disc. Mine were white tops from allmedia.

Actually the very first ritek g03 disk I ever used were under the Primedisc name and there were a lighter purple. A friend and myself were talking about just yesterday when he said he still had a few left of that batch. the worked fine. As long as they are ritek likely your fine. its kinda odd though...

  8. Ritek G03 should be Dark Purple. Check it with Adsinfo or click http://www.meritline.com/ritekident.html What you got could be Leaddata--Silver/light purle, what allmediaout sold was Princo white/light purple

mcae2003: normally so, but I'm telling you I have gotten light purple ritek g03 before, verified it myself with advinfo. Ritek G03 but light purple. Worked great just like the other riteks since then that were dark purple.

  10. I tried DVDINFO on my supposedly Ritek 1X but it was not successful as I reported on this other trhead:
    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=487474#487474

However I check the link from mcae2003 and it seems that I have the Ritek G03 since the color and the id code correspond to what is mentioned at meritline.com

I've had about a 20% coasters with that spindle.
