  1. Whenever I forward or backward my SVCD, it jumps back to the first frame. What is the reason?
I am using Ulead Moviefactory 2 to convert and author my svcd.

  2. erm, I'm not sure that's an option on VCD
Hmm I believe when burning with Nero there's a file you can addf to make forwarding possible...

  3. when you say forward do you mean fast forward or next chapter forward? Cause if you don't create chapters then it will either stop the cd or go back to the start. I am sure this isn't the problem though but also think about reading the help file or something from the ulead program. Also svcd and vcd can be fast forward and svcd can have chapters

He means fast forward as Nero isn't able to add chapters.

What DVD player are you using? Have you tried the dics with other players? Does FF/REW work on other players? How are you burning the dics?

For example my Philips DVD 622 behaved like this (and I believe many other Philips DVD player models). The trick to get REW/FF working for me was:

    1) Upgrading the DVD player firmware
    2) Multiplexing the SVCD with BBMpeg, not with TMPGEnc
    3) Authoring the SVCD with VCDEasy

iIt's because PBC (playback control ) isn't allowed on the disc ( or on the player)

    disc:
Author the disc with vcdeasy and enable PBC
    player:
locate some button to turn on PBC ( menu?)
Anyone tired of his old DVD burner? Why put it into the trash? Contact me! :))))
