I'm trying to add the subtitles to a movie I downloaded.
They're in the .srt format. I've followed the tutorial here
    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/87065.php
    but nothing seems to happen.

At the beginning of the tutorial you're suppose to open
the .avi file in VirturalDUB. Now I've extracted the audio
in an earlier process, so I've got a 1.5GB avi file with
non-compressed audio. I have no problem opening the
file, just wanted to give you as much info as possible.

Another thing I've noticed, in the tutorial when you click
Video---->Filters, there's some info in the box
prior to adding the TextSub txt filter. My filter box is
empty. I'm able to open my subs, and previewing the
movie everything comes out perfect. Then when I click
Start Frame Server.... I get the Frameserver setup
box where it shows my avi file. I click Start and
it ask for a location to save the .vdr signpost file. I give
it a location, click OK and I get the Frameserver
mode box, and that's where it sits forever and ever. I do
notice something about a Frameclient installed and it
    says None.

What am I doing wrong? Or have I missed a step?

    TIA
    Why doesn't this work?
