    how is it that tivo can edit out commercials and pvr's can't? is there software that can do it?

    Huh ?

    TiVo can NOT Edit out commericals ..... I have three Tivos, so I would know. You can fast forward quickly thru them (at up to 300x), but you still have to deal with them.

    my mistake, i was under the impression that tivo/directv and what not were capable of doing this...thanks for the info
