  1. Hi,

I was using vcd easy to burn an MPEG file when I realized that the file was too large. Does anyone know of any way that I can cut the size of the MPEG file, so that it is in burnable format? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  2. TMPGenc has a 'Merge and Cut' tool under the MPEG Tools within the program that does that.

if it is mpeg1 you can use virtualdub and edit it like any avi. this is nicer than tmpgebc's "merge and cut" because you can make many cuts wherever you want, then output when you are finished editing. tmpgenc will only let you make one cut, then you have to do it again for another cut etc...

  4. So virtualdub can cut mpeg-1 files without re-encoding ?

Isn't there some new or modified version that can do same with mpeg-2 file ?

Virtualdub can not edit without reencoding mpeg1 or mpeg2.

Virtualdub can edit your mpeg file but can only be saved as an avi- so you would have to re-encode your edited file back to an mpeg.
