PAL>NTSC need some help here :-?

hey im trying to convert a PAL divx to dvd (ntsc)...
i went through the whole process of avi>mpeg2>d2v>m2v>remux&compile ac3 and m2v

but my question is this: Can a ntsc DVD player (in my case a PS2) play PAL video? I ask this because when i went through the above process it took two days and the outcome was TERRIBLE. Everything was choppy b/c i went from 25 fps to 23.976...even when i tried it over again in virtual dub it was bad.

Why dont you try it ?. DVD players can, but you dont have one !

well i would try it, only i cant seem to get maestro to open up anything other than a video with 29.97 fps.......know why???

1) did you check "no frame rate conversion" in tmpgenc ???
it is absolutely necessary. otherwise the converted stuff is choppy !
2) did you chose "3:2 pulldown during the palyback" in tmpgenc ?
3) what do they say in the manual of your player ???
for example my player is Philips DVD-623, and it can play PAL and NTSC.

4) what is your pixel size ?
point (2) might not be important for some players, but mine cannot play 23.976fps smoothly if the vertical resolution is more than that of a VCD (for both PAL and NTSC). That is why I must use pull down, and the internal fps to be 29.97
