Hi
I am going to purchase media center XP. Can the DVD player in Media Center out put DTS and 6.1 sound from dvd films, using the SPDIF output on a sound card to my sound reciver. I am aware the Microsoft media center has the spdif option for 5.1 DVD. But will that same option output 6.1 and DTS sound tracks.

Isnt this the Microsoft product that has built in copy right protection? Like it wont let you rip mp3s or dvd or any copyright formats. Thanks but no thanks, I'd rather keep my old PC.

As far as I know, media center does nothing more on that department than "normal" XP. It's mainly a question of sound card it seems. There has been some 7.1 compatible sound cards for a while out there...
I could be wrong, but I don't think that windoze will magically decide to spit out 6.1/DTS on it's own, just cuz it's media center...
