  1. Using a bit rate of 1400-2000 what template will give u the best quality as i want better then 1265 still using non compliant vcd mode as home dvd player will not play mpeg 2. do u use constant bit rate and set a bit rate or what?

    Have you tried using the header trick described on this site to play SVCDs? If that works, the SVCD will be your best bet for high quality.

    I'm not actually sure what Nero setting you use to burn. The header trick guide should say.

    But yes, this will be SVCD quality, as it is an SVCD file, the DVD player just believes its playing a VCD.

  7. Basically, you are making an XVCD with an otherwise SVCD-specced MPEG-2 file.

    This works because some DVD players don't have the firmware to play SVCDs, but can play X/VCDs (AND are loose enough to play back MPEG-2 files on the XVCD).

  8. i tried the header trick but picture is to big? its like it wont fit the tv? Tried like 10 disks, now they are beer coasters

    It sounds like an overscan problem. Search the forums for overscan. :P

  11. i used the unlock template and adjusted my pixels to 480x480 in the vcd mode, is this possible caus the outcome is the picture wont fit on my tv, either to big or only get portion of top of movie, tried the svcd trick by converting to vcd but get same picture, not fitting, i want the bes picture quality possible on a cdr but dvd home wont play mpeg 2 or svcd types?
