Have you tried using the header trick described on this site to play SVCDs? If that works, the SVCD will be your best bet for high quality.

Thanks, so u still retain better quality than a vcd but just trick your dvd player and will have better pixel quality?

I'm not actually sure what Nero setting you use to burn. The header trick guide should say.
But yes, this will be SVCD quality, as it is an SVCD file, the DVD player just believes its playing a VCD. -
Basically, you are making an XVCD with an otherwise SVCD-specced MPEG-2 file.
This works because some DVD players don't have the firmware to play SVCDs, but can play X/VCDs (AND are loose enough to play back MPEG-2 files on the XVCD).

i used the unlock template and adjusted my pixels to 480x480 in the vcd mode, is this possible caus the outcome is the picture wont fit on my tv, either to big or only get portion of top of movie, tried the svcd trick by converting to vcd but get same picture, not fitting, i want the bes picture quality possible on a cdr but dvd home wont play mpeg 2 or svcd types?

I would say Dual Channel even though I've never used it before.
