I too need to know how to go from PAL to NTSC. In particular, I expect to receive an MPEG-2/PAL. I want to convert to MPEG-2/NTSC and MPEG-1/NTSC. Well, MPG NTSC. My friend used a Roxio tool to do it -- but now that I've switched to Nero, it won't run. I did buy the NERO converter -- but that's for MPEG-2.

Also, does the latest VCD easy run on WIN98??? Win2000 Pro? Or only XP?

I plan on very soon running a dual boot (2 hard drive) Win98 on one HD, Win2000 Pro on the second. How should my VCD be set up?

    Thanks

you can just use tmpgenc to encode the PAL to NTSC. just change the resolution and framerate to 29.97 for ntsc. to the best of my knowledge, vcdeasy will run on all windows.

Use smartripper to rip the DVD and DvdX to convert

The change from 25fps to 29fps is hardly noticeable on a good DVD player, only on fast screen pans will it be a little out.

For all other work use TMPGEnc to convert from one to the other, use the Ligos filter with TMPGEnc for Mpeg 2 convert
